Wild swimming is very popular round here and we love our bathing beauties! This sculpture by Lynn Muir is part of our 'Life in a Northern Town' exhibition and we have two swimmers with caps and two with earrings - do they remind you of a friend?
Lynn is an established british maker whose original art training was in illustration. She works from her home in a village overlooking the North Cornish coast.
She collects her raw materials, mainly driftwood from her local beaches. After time and much preparation with the help of machinary, hand tools and paint , it is transformed into wòoden figures varying in many individual characters and situations.
