Promise of Spring - framed original ceramic piece

This wonderful artwork by Jill depicts an alder tree that grows on the bank of a drainage dyke close to Jill's pottery studio in Ellerton, East Riding Yorkshire.

Alders grow well there as there is a plentiful supply of water, especially in the winter months when the Ings water meadows flood with the overspill from the River Derwent.

Bright citrus green new leaves are just beginning to show on the trees and the fresh gren grass in the meadow heralds the beginning of spring. This piece is filled with optimism for the coming season.

The three panels are made from porcelain, carved and decorated with a variety of techniques in order to highlight the tectural details and is framed in a black frame with subtle gold inset.
