Meet The Maker – Claire Troughton

Claire is a talented jewellery designer whose inspiration comes from the tiny creatures and plants that can be found in the hedgerows and forests of the English countryside.

Individual ranges usually feature a matching suite of necklace, bracelet or bangle, ring and earrings. Mainly working in silver, Claire uses small areas of gold to highlight details of her designs, creating a distinctive style.

After completing 3 years of training at Edinburgh College of Art, plus 1 year in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, Claire began making her own jewellery in 1996. She soon established a strong following and now sells her collections in almost 40 shops and boutiques throughout the UK and Europe.

Every item is hand made in the UK with the help of a small but highly skilled team. Claire makes each original design for her collections by hand using traditional goldsmithing techniques.

Popular pieces from the collections have been featured in glossy magazines such as ‘Cheshire Life’ and ‘Look’ Magazine and she has won several awards for her work.

Claire has been designing and making jewellery for over 20 years and has been a regular jeweller at Heart Gallery since 2011 so we are really proud to be showcasing her new pieces now for Christmas 2017.
