Louise Lockhart is an illustrator living in an old mill twixt Hebden Bridge and Todmorden.
She spends her days creating designs from little paper cut outs and line drawings, dreaming up worlds where men still wear suits and hats.
As well as working as a freelance illustrator, Louise also applies her illustrations to products for you and your home, which she sells in her online shop The Printed Peanut.
In 2012, illustrator Louise Lockhart was working in a beautiful stationery shop in Vancouver which inspired her to start her own line of illustrated products.
Realising there was a gap on the market for quality party games, she began making her version of Pass the Parcel (fuelled on peanut butter) and so The Printed Peanut was born.
This year Louise has designed her new Snow Globe cards and notecard packs. Jolly flowers and animals dance across the notecards in Louise’s playful cut out collage style of illustration. Her cards are inspired by real kitsch snowglobes and New York, Paris and London cities make a perfect snowy scene. Shaped like a real snowglobe ornament, it opens out to sit on your shelf. Blank inside for your own message. They come with a zingy neon envelope to cheer up the postman, plus it’s packed in a biodegradable cello bag.
Inspired by vintage textiles and print ephemera, her unique and colourful work has been applied to a varied selection of products including toys, games, clothes and pieces for your home.
All Louise’s products are manufactured in the UK and aim to use eco-friendly materials wherever possible.
We are delighted to now stock a great range of prints, cards and note cardpacks by Louise and, because she’s just up the road, she can trot in with top ups with her very own little peanut Frankie and brighten our day.
