Originally from East Yorkshire, Rebecca Halstead is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and went on to work as a designer in the jewellery industry in both London’s Bond Street and Birmingham’s jewellery quarter.
She also worked as an art college lecturer for many years.
Rebecca works mainly in sterling silver, often incorporating freshwater pearls and gemstones into her designs.
She has a particular interest in decorative texture, surface finish and fine craftsmanship.
The inspiration for many of her designs comes from botanical forms, and she enjoys creating jewellery that moves beautifully on the body. Her designs are bold and flamboyant, and each piece is made by hand by Rebecca in her Edinburgh studio with an emphasis on quality workmanship.
Colour, pattern and movement have always featured in Rebecca’s work and some of her pieces for us include stone setting into her designs. She mainly works in sterling silver, sometimes adding 14ct gold fill elements to her designs.
Rebecca has joined us for our Summer season 2020 here in Heart Gallery and we hope you love her work as much as we do.
