Katie Bentley Ceramics was established in 2015 after Katie graduated from the University of Sunderland with a degree in Glass & Ceramics.
Creating beautiful pieces for peoples homes as well as functional ceramics to fit in with every day life is her passion.
Working in porcelain clay gives her great satisfaction due to the difficulty that this clay can produce and overcoming the challenges it provides.
Her natural attraction to all things pure enables her to enjoy and appreciate the natural glazed finish to high fired porcelain.
Katie mainly works with porcelain however she is currently developing a range of stoneware table ware.
She draws most of her inspiration from people or places that have an effect on her life.
Katie visited Europe’s largest butterfly park in the Costa Del Sol, Spain for inspiration for her degree piece, Kaleidoscope. She knew that the fragility of the butterfly would be a challenge to recreate in porcelain but would create an outstanding effect and result if it were successful.
She makes all her products in an environmentally conscious way, having zero clay waste & using as much paper packaging as possible when shipping her products.
