Kirsti hand builds ceramic vessels influenced by the sea, beaches and cliffs around Wales and Scotland and exhibits across the UK.
The decoration on Kirsti’s pots evokes shorelines, waves and landscape featuring her distinctive vivid turquoise glaze.
Kirsti exhibits across the UK and delivers ceramic workshops in North Wales and the North West.
Her shapes are either figurative featuring vivid turquoise glaze that reflects the influence of the sea and landscape; or rounded like washed pebble forms.
Kirsti begins the process with drawings of landscapes, shorelines and pebbles. Working through ideas using developmental sketches and experimentations with clay she aims to evoke the textures, forms and colours of the coast.
The pieces are then fired to stoneware temperature and feature a dry turquoise glaze. Kirsti uses a variety of textured clays that react altering the depth of colour in the glaze.
Kirsti’s work is with us until the end of July as part of our wonderful Summer Exhibition Flow, handmade happiness x
