Fi Mehra, (aka Fiona Alison Berry or FAB for short!) was accepted into the Birmingham School of Jewellery after discovering her passion for making jewellery at evening classes.
Her training as a diamond mounter at the School of Jewellery in Birmingham was 3 years and Fi loved her time in Birmingham. Fi has now been designing and making silver and gold jewellery for more than 25 years.
Whilst living in Wiltshire Fi’s inspiration came from the countryside, especially the wonders of the stone circles at Stonehenge.
She also worked in a jewellers in Bath, and at a trade jewellers in Sussex, before eventually setting up her own studio. Fi moved to East Sussex in 2015 and now designs and makes all her own work from a beautiful, purpose built workshop.
Fi loves designing jewellery as much as she loves producing it and her work is inspired by her travels and local history. Of course since moving nearer to the sea she has been creating designs inspired by the coast and her new surroundings.
Following the migrant crisis, Fi has raised awareness for a charity called People In Motion. This is a fabulous charity that support and aid displaced people. Their current focus is on the refugee crisis and they have been sending aid and support throughout Europe; this helps people make it to a safer life. Fi has made 30 silver charms of the People In Motion logo. These charms are for sale with 100% being gifted to the charity by Fi. About half of these have now sold but there are still some limited edition charms available. Please see their website for more information of how you could help http://www.people-in-motion.co.uk/
Heart Gallery has stocked Fi Mehra’s work for well over 7 years now. Furthermore, it has been a pleasure to work with her and see her confidence and her collections grow.
