Mia has been designing and handcrafting jewellery in south Manchester for more than 10 years.
Working primarily with silver, her inspiration comes from the natural world and is reflected in a collection of contemporary pieces as beautiful as they are wearable.
With a creativity borne out of her background in fine art and design, Mia’s starting point for any piece is practicality.
She sculpts intricate designs with a focus on delivering jewellery that looks stunning in presentation but truly sings when it is worn by you.
Many of her pieces trace their origins to flora, fauna and the tiny creatures you can find in many an English garden.
She adores colour and works with jewellery enamel, precious and semi precious stones and gold to compliment the silver.
You’ll also find subtle hints of the sea throughout her work; the ocean is a theme Mia loves returning to.
All of her pieces are original designs, created using traditional skills and attention to every detail.
As well as designing and making Mia also teaches jewellery making to adults. She loves being able to share her skills and pass on her knowledge to students.
We are delighted to be bringing you a selection of Mia’s jewellery to Hebden Bridge for our Christmas At Heart exhibition.
