Corrina is an artist and illustrator now living in Nottingham with past links to Hebden Bridge.
Over the years Corrina has worked in all sorts of mediums, most notably (and for a long time) machine embroidery. When Heart Gallery first opened back in 2006 we sold lots of Corrina’s small framed embroideries. Her ‘Cheese Behave’ was our most popular one.
She now works predominantly digitally and we do sell some of her digital prints and cards. These are inspired by the ordinary things in life with a refreshing take on modern life liberally dosed with wordplay, humour and imagination.
Artists love to challenge themselves so more recently Corrina revisited her love of painting. She painted a series of multicoloured cats in acrylics on board.
She has scanned the original paintings and then digitally manipulated them to create a ‘pop art’ effect that really suits her subject matter.
The combination of analogue and digital really excites Corrina and she finds it a satisfying way of marrying two very different ways of working.
Corrina has produced some inkjet limited edition prints for us using archival inks. We have some of these framed on our wall in Picture Gallery #2 and some small square 20 x 20cm mounted prints.
Her work is part of our wonderful Spring Show MERAKI which launched on Sunday 4th February and runs until April 22nd. We would love to see you so please pop in and say hello x
