London and The Great British High Street Awards

I got back from London late last night after a few days break and so glad to get the much missed Yorkshire air back in my lungs! What a wonderful trip for so many reasons and here’s why:

Hubby and I met our daughter Becky on Sunday night as she finished Uni for Christmas on Friday and the timing was perfect. It meant we had a few days with her in London and could help her home with all her luggage! It also meant that they could walk with me to Lancaster House for The Great British High Street awards I have been so looking forward to since the voting closed in November….thanks to everyone on my social media feed for getting behind me and Hebden Bridge. You will all have read the news now anyway but this little blog post just sums up my few hours in Lancaster House perfectly.

I didn’t win the Best GB Twitter Shop category despite you all getting behind me and tweeting but I was just so proud to have been a finalist and so happy to be there and be able to share the joy when both Hebden Bridge and Pateley Bridge won their categories. Thank you to everyone who got behind this campaign to crown Hebden Bridge Best Small Market Town … we smashed it!

Then to top the afternoon off Hebden Bridge also won The People’s Choice Award … I was in bits! Tears running down my face and pouring onto the floor! This was THE best news to THE best day of this year for me and I am so proud of our town, proud to have my business in this town for ten years, proud of the business owners and residents of this town, proud of all my artists, friends, family and everyone else who voted for the little Yorkshire town of Hebden Bridge with the BIG heart, thank you xXx
